A Multicenter “Ablate and Resect” Study of Novilase Interstitial Laser Therapy for the Ablation of Small Breast Cancers

The purpose of the research is to study and report the effects of Novilase breast therapy for small breast cancers. This is a multicenter feasibility study in which approximately 60 women with small breast cancers will undergo the ablation procedure prior to surgical excision of their breast cancers. The ablation procedure takes place in an outpatient setting, and is typically completed in 30-60 minutes.

Inclusion Criteria

women with small malignant breast tumors

Exclusion Criteria

advanced-stage breast cancer, recurrent breast cancer, prior treatment in the ILT treated breast, BRCA positive, DCIS with microinvasion, benign lesions, pregnancy, morbid obesity, cardiac pacemaker or other metallic implants
