Overview

This program will review the current state-of-the-art in breast cancer diagnosis and management, highlighting the key advances in providing a personalized approach to breast cancer screening, prevention, treatment and survivorship. Emphasis will be given on improvements in providing precise breast cancer management through enriched understanding of tumor biology and genetics. Active areas of most promising research and clinical trials will be discussed. The format of this program will consist of lectures with active audience feedback discussion. Radiology, medical oncology, genetics, surgery, pathology, and radiation oncology will present areas of clinical relevance and current controversy will be highlighted.

Target Audience

This program has been designed for primary care physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, internists, medical oncologist, radiation oncologists, gynecological oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiologist, nurses, and any other clinicians involved in the management and treatment of patients with breast cancer.

  • Describe new breast cancer screening guidelines
  • Define individual risk assessment and prevention approach
  • Identify the use of expanded breast cancer gene panel testing
  • Define survivorship strategies
  • Explain genomic implications of breast cancer subtypes
  • Discuss advances in local therapy with surgery and radiation
  • Recognize targeted systemic therapy to individualize treatment
