Basic and Translational Research Laboratory

The Columbia University Cardiothoracic Surgery Research Laboratory is an active basic and translational research facility located at Columbia University Medical Center. Its team of Research Scientists, Research Fellows, and Research Assistants (RAs), pursues research on a variety of topics in both cardiac and thoracic surgery using animal models, human tissue and clinical data to improve methods and practice and, ultimately, patient care at Columbia and beyond.

Clinical Research Core

The Clinical Research Core (CRC) provides the Department of Surgery with a pool of experienced research professionals with a range of expertise. The CRC will enable access to part-time or temporary full-time experienced clinical research nurses, clinical research coordinators (CRCs), or research assistants (RAs), as determined by the needs of the study.
