James Mark Kiely, MD, Joins Faculty
James Mark Kiely, MD, has joined the Division of Colorectal Surgery at NYP/Columbia, as Assistant Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Kiely was previously with an academic Colon and Rectal Surgery practice in Baystate Medical Center, Massachusetts and completed his Clinical Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and his General Surgery residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2010. Originally from Ireland, Dr. Kiely graduated from Medical School at the University of Dublin, Trinity College.
His clinical interests include benign and malignant conditions, along with abdominal, pelvic, as anorectal procedures. He has special expertise in robotic rectal cancer surgery, the management of Crohn’s/inflammatory bowel disease, and sphincter sparing anal fistula surgery (LIFT).
He will lead the incorporation of trans-anal procedures (Ta-TME) for the management of a variety of colorectal conditions and will also be the lead surgeon for the development of the Colorectal Program for NewYork-Presbyterian/ Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY.
His main office is located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, 161 Fort Washington Avenue, 8th floor, in Manhattan. He is also seeing patients in Westchester, NY at NYP/Lawrence Hospital, 55 Palmer Avenue, Bronxville, NY.
