Regional and national healthcare insurers recognize us both for our clinical excellence and our cost-effective care. While NewYork-Presbyterian's contracting professionals continually expand the roster of participating health insurance plans, the Center's financial counselor works directly with patients and their families to negotiate coverage with their insurers, or develop out-of-network case rates as needed.

At the time of your initial consultation, our financial counselor will meet with you to verify that your insurance will cover the costs of transplantation, including post-operative medications. In order to approve a transplant procedure, many insurance companies will require documentation from the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation, including the results of your evaluation, confirming the medical necessity of your transplant.

Financing for Post-operative Medications

It is very important that you are able to cover the cost of the numerous medications you will require after the operation. If you do not have sufficient insurance coverage, our financial counselor and social worker will work to assist you in finding the best solution to the problem.
