About Audrey C Pendleton, MD:
Dr. Pendleton received her undergraduate education at Smith College, where she was inducted into the Sigma Xi Scientific Honors Society, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. Between college and medical school, she worked at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, performing research in human immunology. She attended medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. After graduating medical school, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Center. While at NYU, she earned her Certificate in Translational and Clinical Research. She then trained in general surgery at Montefiore Medical Center at The Albert Einstein School of Medicine where she won the Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Pendleton completed two fellowships, one in Trauma Surgery and Critical Care at Virginia Commonwealth University and then finished her training by doing a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois where she also served as the Chief Fellow and received extensive training in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. She returned to New York and joined the faculty at Columbia University Medical Center where she is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Thoracic Surgery. She has numerous publications and has presented at national and international conferences. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Trauma, and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Her interests and areas of expertise include robotic thoracic surgery, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and surgical education.
