Dr. Dionigi obtained her Medical Degree with honors from the University of Pavia, Italy. After a surgical internship at NYPH Cornell Medical Center in New York, she completed her general surgery residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Harvard Medical School in Boston. During this time, she also did a two-year translational research fellowship related to amniotic fluid-derived mesenchymal stem cells at Boston Children Hospital. She then completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at the Salvati Fellowship Program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson in New Jersey followed by two years as an advanced fellow in complex re-operative colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
As an Assistant in Clinical Surgery, Dr Dionigi is skilled in anorectal and abdominal procedures for the full spectrum of benign and malignant colorectal disease including anorectal disorders, pelvic floor conditions, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, polyposis (FAP) and colorectal cancer. She has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures as well as reoperative surgery for complex conditions.
Dr. Dionigi is the author of several publications and is a recipient of awards related to research.
