About Andrew Benintende, MD:
Dr. Andrew Benintende is a general surgeon who focuses on using innovative surgical solutions to care for patients. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery with robotic assisted operations and regularly employs new technologies to better treat his patients. He believes that a patient centered approach to care with shared decision making is a corner stone of surgical treatment. He is passionate about research as he has a background in basic science organoid development, and clinical outcomes research focused on improving patient care for acutely ill general surgery patients.
Dr. Benintende was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but grew up in Dubai UAE, giving him a diverse and unique perspective of the world. He completed his General Surgery residency at Columbia University – New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he has stayed as a faculty member in department of General Surgery. He cares deeply about medical education and thoughtful, effective patient care.
