About Josh A. Johnson, MD:
Dr. Josh Johnson is an Assistant in Clinical Surgery and Assistant Attending Surgeon at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. Dr. Josh Johnson was a General Surgery Resident at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medicine. He received his MD from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a BA in Race & Ethnic Studies from Columbia College, Columbia University. Dr. Johnson is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Black Academic Surgeons. His research interests include diversity in the surgical workforce, outcomes in surgical residency, and the pipeline of pre-medical and medical students to surgical residency. Dr. Johnson was a Teaching All-Star at Weill Cornell Medical College Surgery Clerkship and a Class Graduation Speaker at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is the founding author of the Healthcare Fine Print newsletter/blog.
