Columbia’s Adult Cardiac Surgery Section, from the Division of Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery, is dedicated to leading the field of heart surgery through top-quality clinical care, academic excellence, and pioneering research.

Columbia’s Adult Cardiac Surgery Section takes a comprehensive approach to treating every form and severity of heart disease. This includes a full suite of surgical care for conditions like heart attacks, heart failure, and aortic disease, as well as specialized services for more uncommon conditions like cardiac tumors. We run internationally recognized programs for heart transplants, mechanical assist devices, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
