We’re back with another episode of “Dr. AI” to assess how well the AI chatbot, ChatGPT, answers medical questions. This week, Arnar Geirsson, MD, asks: What is the best way to treat severe mitral regurgitation due to mitral valve prolapse?
Mitral regurgitation is the backward flow of blood through the heart. With mitral valve prolapse, the leaflets and tendon-like cords supporting the valve weaken, causing bulge (or prolapse) with every contraction of the left ventricle, which in turn can cause regurgitation.
On a scale of one to ten, let’s see how well ChatGPT does with this one.
