About Maria D. Pagan Mendez, MD:
María Pagán-Méndez, MD is an Endocrinologist at Columbia University with specialized expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disorders. Dr. Pagán is passionate about providing meaningful patient care and has a particular focus on serving the Hispanic community, working to ensure culturally sensitive healthcare.
Dr. Pagán earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and completed both her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Endocrinology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. With training in thyroid ultrasound and fine needle aspiration biopsy, Dr. Pagán works closely with multidisciplinary teams in Endocrine Surgery, Pathology, and Nuclear Medicine to provide comprehensive care.
Dr. Pagán's clinical interests include managing thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, adrenal nodules, adrenal diseases, and calcium disorders related to parathyroid disease.
Dr. Pagán is also actively involved in medical education, contributing to the training of the next generation of endocrinologists.
